Hey, Hey We're the Monkees!

Before the bloated bellies, football follies, and family function (edit: dysfunction) of Thanksgiving arrive tomorrow, this little long distance dedication ditty from Halloween goes out to Cornelius, Zira, Dr. Zaius and all the rest of those damned dirty apes on a planet far, far, awa...wait a second...Statue of Liberty? THAT WAS OUR PLANET! YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP! DAMN YOU! GOD DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!

All adoration and Planet of the Apes references aside, this first Halloween for Scout was one for the books. The little chimp had quite the time...even if the entirety of the melted magic of candy and costumes hasn't quite come together in his still developing mind just yet.

And let's be honest, this All Hallow's Eve was more about Mommy Monkey and Daddy Donkey Kong just loving the hell out of our boy in that costume.

Unlike every child on television, Scout's not a fan of hats or any hat like object placed on his head. Thank you. Helmets? Hardly. A chapeau? Clearly not. Fedoras? Forget about it.

Imagine our delight then when he donned the head of a small gorilla and beamed from ear to ear. To say that he loved the outfit would be understating an overtly obvious fact.

But is it all that surprising? Nah, not really. After all, that's my boy. And as the ghosts of Ukrainian Halloweens past are all too quick to point out...monkey see, monkey do.

it's just like christmas if it was halloween.
