The price they pay.

Standing on the tarmac at Dover Air Force Base in the middle of the night for what has become an all too common occurrence over the last eight years, but had under the previous administration been shrouded from the view of the American public, President Barack Obama reminded all of us the highest of prices the brave men and women of our armed forces are asked to pay.

The cost of war is measured not only in the thousands of men and women who lay down their lives for their country and a cause they believe is just. That price is highest when it is measured one fallen soldier, one husband or wife, one son or daughter, one mother or father at a time.

As as veteran, and as an American, I'm proud today to finally have a Commander in Chief who recognizes that cost.

Never forget.
